Purple Texas Cholla (Opuntia imbricata) This is a very hardy variety of cholla imbricata which originates in Texas that will have very nice dark purple to magneta blooms in early summer. It is an upright grower, getting from 6-10 ft. tall. It is made up of individual joints from 6-10" long that may also be dried for use as orchid or tillandsia mounts. It is cold hardy down to -20ยบ without protection and has no insects or predators. Height: 6-10 ft. (1.2-3 m) Spacing: 4-6 ft.
